Machine Translation Languages

This page provides a list of languages and language pairs supported for machine translation only.

Other language processing components such as Sentiment Analysis, Named Entity Recognition, Glossary and Terminology Extraction, and Automated Language Identification each have their own specific language support list.

With nearly 600 language pairs supported, Language Studio boasts the most extensive coverage of direct translation language pairs of any commercial machine translation platform. Many machine translation providers claim large numbers of language pairs but will pivot between English (French 🡆 English 🡆 English 🡆 German) rather than direct (French 🡆 German). Pivoting between English causes loss of context and results in lower quality translation. It is always preferable to translate directly.

Supported language pairs cover European, Asian, and Middle Eastern languages. Many additional language pairs are currently under development. If we don’t yet support your language pair, talk to us about adding it for you. The following matrix provides the currently available and planned language pairs.
